Diamond H Performance Horses is a family owned and operated business owned by Craig Hostetler, in Missouri. Craig has been involved in horses his whole life. He would ride horses every chance he got as a child and took up roping as a teenager. He and his cousins were self taught in the roping pen. As they were learning themselves, they also taught the horses they had access to. As their skill in roping and training the horses advanced they began to offer these horses for sale to the public.

Currently, Craig, his wife and three sons work as a team to care for their cattle, chicken and horses. The chicken operation collects on average 20,000 table eggs a day from specialty chickens who free range on 60 acres on their farm. They, also, keep a pasture full of young horses they enjoy raising with the plan of training them as they get old enough.

The Hostetlers invest their time with and training in only a select few horses every year. They either raise, or carefully hand-pick the horses in their program. During their training, the main focus is to ingrain confidence and gentleness. As a family run business, this is an important trait in a horse that their children can enjoy and they know the importance of it as the horse moves to their next family.

At Diamond H, the horses are exposed to a wide range of confidence building tasks: miles of trails which may include logs, creeks, steep inclines, wildlife, and various terrain as well as balls, bullwhips, tarps, obstacles, and cattle back at the farm. Becoming desensitized to such variety instills confidence and gentleness so they are prepared to be a joy to their next family!
